Volunteer Requirements
At Community Grapevines, Inc., our volunteers play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and communities. To ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone we serve, we ask all volunteers meet the following guidelines:
Eligibility
Must be 18 years of age or older (some youth opportunities may be available with parental consent)
Must share and uphold the mission, values, and standards of Community Grapevines
Application & Screening
Completion of a Volunteer Application
Participation in a brief interview or orientation
Background check may be required depending on the role (especially for work with youth, seniors, or returning citizens)
Submission of references, if requested
Training & Orientation
Attendance at a mandatory volunteer orientation
Completion of any role-specific training
Agreement to follow all organizational policies and procedures
Commitment & Conduct
Ability to commit to agreed-upon schedules or program timelines
Maintain professional, respectful, and non-judgmental behavior
Uphold confidentiality and respect the privacy of participants
Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and clear communication
Additional Requirements (Role-Dependent)
Some volunteer roles may also require:
Valid government-issued ID
Proof of relevant certifications or experience
Participation in ongoing training or supervision

Community Grapevines has supported over 200 individuals and families through education, wellness, youth development, senior engagement, and reentry-focused programs.
